Beacon is a rectangular wall light that throws light up and down the surface it is mounted on, which is what gives an exterior wall depth after dark instead of a flat wash. Mounted either side of a door or spaced along a driveway, it lights the ground where people actually walk.
The body is aluminium, chosen because it does not rust. An outdoor fitting lives in rain, frost and sun for years without anyone thinking about it, and steel eventually shows what that costs. Aluminium stays as it was, and the light is fully waterproof and rated for exterior use.
Four sizes cover different jobs. The 2W at 3 inches suits step and path markers where you want light without a fixture that announces itself. The 8W at 8.7 inches has the presence for a front entrance. Each unit covers roughly 5 to 10 square metres, and the mounting kit and fixings are included.
